CETA Testsysteme GmbH presents the new leak tester CETATEST 820

Precise and cost-efficient quality control of series products

(PresseBox) (Hilden, )
CETA Testsysteme GmbH, a leading manufacturer of test devices “Made in Germany”, introduces the CETATEST 820, a new differential pressure leak tester designed to meet the requirements of modern quality control. The CETATEST 820 combines high measurement accuracy with a cost-effective design. It can be used for a wide range of applications where the tightness of components and products is critical. The CETATEST820 extends the comprehensive CETA range of leak, volume flow and mass flow testers with a cost-effective leak tester.

Reliable leak testing with compressed air

The CETATEST 820 uses compressed air as the test medium and is suitable for directly fillable products and for test pressures from -1 bar to 10 bar. The use of the differential pressure method enables the reliable measurement of low pressure losses or small leakage rates. This is particularly important in sectors such as the automotive industry, medical technology and the packaging industry, where the highest quality standards apply. The CETATEST 820 has a differential pressure measuring range of ±500.0 Pa with an internal resolution of 0.01 Pa.

The core of the CETATEST 820 is a real-time system which, in combination with a highresolution 24-bit A/D converter, guarantees fast and precise measurement data evaluation.

The device offers a variety of measuring result units, including Pa, psi, Pa/s, psi/s, ml/min, mbar l/s, mmHg, mmWs.

In addition to the test method of pressure decay testing, the CETATEST 820 is equipped as standard with helpful additional functions such as nominal pressure optimisation, prefilling, pulsing and smooth filling. A freely programmable pneumatic control output is available as an option. This can be used, for example, to switch external pneumatically actuated changeover valves that control a stamping device or enable measuring point changeover.

The compact 3 U tester is operated via a 7-inch color touchscreen and separate start/stop buttons.

The CETATEST 820 is equipped with a digital I/O interface, RS-232, USB (host) and Ethernet as standard. Profinet protocol activation for external gateways recommended by CETA is available as an option. The supply voltage is 24 VDC. An UL-certified power supply unit is available as an option. This makes the test device suitable for integration into automated production lines.

The device has a storage capacity for 100,000 measurement results and 64 individually configurable test programs with alphanumeric program names. Test programs can be exported and imported via communication interfaces or an USB storage medium. The CETATEST 820 also offers result statistics, a cycle counter, user administration and the export of test parameters, measurement curves and measurement series to USB storage media.

Software for advanced analysis

The CETA Soft 2G application software is available free of charge and enable measurement series management and a variety of graphical presentations (measurement curves, histograms) for a detailed analysis of the test results.

Warranty and DAkkS-accredited calibration

All CETA test devices, including the CETATEST 820, and calibration standards are supplied with an internationally recognized DAkkS-accredited calibration certificate in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 as standard and at no extra charge (DAkkS = German Accreditation Body).

This calibration fulfills the requirements of the international automotive standard IATF 16949.

CETA grants a standard 3-year warranty on test devices with annual maintenance, with an optional extension to 5 years.

Cost-efficient quality product

The extensive range of functions, proven and precise measurement technology, 3-year warranty and DAkkS-accredited calibration are interesting added values of the cost-efficient CETATEST 820, which is priced at less than €10,000. The CETATEST 820 will be available from the 3rd quarter of 2025.

CETA Testsysteme GmbH

CETA Testsysteme GmbH - Solution partner for industrial leak and flow testing

CETA Testsysteme GmbH, based in Hilden near Düsseldorf, Germany, was founded in 1988 and has been active for more than 35 years as a manufacturer of physical measurement instruments used in leak tests and flow measurements. Compressed air is used as test medium. This testing procedure is characterised by the fact that it can be integrated in the production line with high process reliability.

The test equipment "Made in Germany" is developed in-house and along with the components and accessories (e.g. calibration standards) are manufactured by CETA. This takes into account the high demands on the quality of the internal modules used. A comprehensive range of test devices means that the right solution can be found for almost any testing application.

Semi-automatic test stands are also offered. The test devices are used by customers for quality assurance, quality control and production assurance. The customers are mainly from the automotive industry, medical technology, heating and air conditioning industry, energy sector, fittings and household appliances industry, packaging industry and e-mobility.

The company is certified according to DIN ISO 9001 and won the Quality Award of North Rhine Westphalia in the industry category in 2002. Since 2012, CETA has been consistently certified with a very good credit rating.

The calibration laboratory was accredited in 2004 by the German Calibration Service (DKD) and in 2014 by the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS) - as the successor to the DKD - as a DAkkSaccredited calibration laboratory. The DAkkS-accredited calibration (compliant with the DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard) meets the requirements of the IATF 16949 standard applicable in the automotive industry.

CETA Testsysteme GmbH is the first German manufacturer of leak testers to deliver its test equipment with DKD- or DAkkS-accredited calibration certificate as standard since 2004. From mid-2024, flow testers as well as pressure manometers and calibration standards will also be supplied with a DAkkS-accredited calibration certificate as standard and at no extra cost on initial delivery.

The comprehensive range of services includes consulting, feasibility studies, commissioning, training, maintenance and calibration.

With cooperation partners in China, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Thailand, the Czech Republic, Turkey and Hungary and with thousands of test devices in use all over the world, CETA Testsysteme GmbH presents itself as a competent solution partner for industrial leak and flow testing.
