Quality and service - this is the philosophy that LLOYD subscribed. The traditional brand LLOYD has obliged itself to internal quality features since 1888. Among other aspects, this obligation was a reason for LLOYD Shoes GmbH to entrust TGW as general contractor with the building of its new logistics centre at their site in Sulingen, Germany.
"The combination of executing quality, technical maturity, planned reserve capacities at all parts of the installation and intelligent controls and IT levels convinced us that TGW's components would fit ideally to our internal WMS software. That is why we decided for TGW to build our logistics solution", says Head of Logistics at LLOYD Manfred Buschmeier. "The IT includes an efficient and demand-oriented switch-off mechanism. By permanently evaluating current orders and resulting workloads for workstations, picking stations and implemented technologies, the system optimises the overall efficiency as well as the personnel placement of our new automated solution."
The centrepiece of the new LLOYD logistics centre will be a 15 meter high automated mini-load warehouse with five aisles and a storage capacity of 50,000 cartons. "TGW's triple-deep carton storage concept for LLOYD's carton sizes ranging from 400x300mm to 700x700mm optimises the storage conditions in each aisle and leads to highest throughput rates", explains Buschmeier.
With this new logistics centre, LLOYD contributes to the company's continuous upward movement and is looking forward to the future at their established central site in Sulingen near Bremen, Germany.
