Smart nuclear power plants also need uranium

(PresseBox) (Herisau, )
.
Innovations and progress do not stop at nuclear reactor technology.

Nuclear energy scores in terms of environmental and climate protection. The safety of nuclear reactors is steadily increasing, but there is still the matter of radioactive waste. In this country, we will have to deal with many cubic meters of radioactive waste after the nuclear phase-out. This waste comes not only from nuclear power plants, but also from medicine and research. Now a Canadian company has reinvented the nuclear power plant. It is small, efficient, safe and there is little radiating waste. It should even be possible to generate electricity from nuclear waste. The two-liquid reactor was created rather accidentally during medical research. It falls into the category of Smart Modular Reactors, which are being researched almost worldwide. The advantage of these much smaller reactors compared to conventional reactors is that they can be mass produced.

The innovation in the two-liquid reactor is that it is fed directly with uranium or processed nuclear waste. In classical nuclear power plants, final storage facilities are needed for about 100,000 years; the new type does the same in 300 years. A permanent repository is thus superfluous. It is still in the planning stage and is expected to be ready for series production in about ten years. The first tests are scheduled for the middle of the decade. According to the World Nuclear Association, there are currently 93 nuclear power plants connected to the electricity grid in the USA, for example. France has the most reactors in Europe.

In any case, technologies are advancing in the nuclear sector as well, but what is always needed is uranium, at least until new technologies actually entail less use. Uranium is available in the uranium projects of IsoEnergy or Uranium Energy.

IsoEnergy - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gn9fk-ARE8A - owns the Laroque East uranium project in the Athabasca Basin in Saskatchewan, with the high-grade Hurricane Zone.

Uranium Energy - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-kdD_OUsZo - is the largest uranium company in the USA and can supply uranium there.
