Italy wants to return to nuclear power

(PresseBox) (Herisau, )
For example, the Italian government intends to draw up a roadmap for a possible return to nuclear energy within the next seven months.

Since July 1, 1990, the last nuclear power plants in Italy have ceased operation. Referendums were held after the nuclear disasters at Chernobyl and Fukushima. At the time, the overwhelming majority opposed the use of nuclear energy. Now the Minister of Infrastructure is saying "Italy must not lose any time." A return to the production of clean and safe energy is necessary. Particular attention is being paid to small modular reactors and fourth-generation AMR reactors. For the past 30 years, Italy has been getting its energy from oil, natural gas, hydropower and other renewable sources. At the same time, the country is dependent on electricity imports, with most of it coming from France, i.e., nuclear energy. In fact, Italy relies on imported energy for about 75 percent of its total energy needs. The Italians experienced a blackout once in 2003, when the entire country was without power, in some cases for up to 18 hours. The reason was probably a grid problem in Switzerland.

The biggest blackouts were in India in 2012, caused by states that had drawn more electricity than allowed. In Pakistan, rebels blew up a pylon in 2015, cutting off electricity to 80 percent of the population. The USA was not spared in 2012, where a hurricane was the villain. In order to supply the world with sufficient energy and to do so in the face of increasing energy demand, nuclear power is a clean solution. Companies such as American Future Fuel and Uranium Energy have the necessary uranium in the ground.

American Future Fuel owns a 100% interest in the Cebolleta uranium project in New Mexico, USA. It is located in the Grants Mineral Belt. This mineral belt accounts for around 37 percent of the uranium produced in the USA.

In the USA, there is no getting around Uranium Energy - https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/uranium-energy-corp/ . With ISR projects, some of them operational, in the USA, as well as further projects in Canada and uranium interests, the company is very well positioned.
