As a trusted partner in filling and packaging, IWK stands for compact, high-performance systems that combine precision, modularity, and energy efficiency. The company’s solutions are designed to meet the increasing demands of modern healthcare packaging—efficient, sustainable, and space-saving.
Packaging Technology in action
At the booth, IWK will present its VI 5 vertical cartoner in live operation, packaging glass vials for parenteral applications into folding cartons at a speed of 75 cartons per minute. This intermittent motion machine features a fully servo-driven architecture and an open, accessible work area. Its modular, extendable frame allows for optimal use of floor space and supports a wide range of packaging formats including bottles, tubes, blisters, jars, and sachets. The VI 5 is designed for fast and reproducible format changes, enabled by a central height adjustment of the transport system and quick-change carton carriers using a click-in system. The absence of guide rails in the curved transport area simplifies cleaning and maintenance, while the intuitive touchscreen HMI ensures user-friendly operation. The format range covers dimensions from A 25–100 mm, B 20–90 mm, and H 50–230 mm. The servo-driven transport system gives high positioning accuracy, and the base machine includes 22 carton carriers, expandable up to 54 stations for increased flexibility.
Comprehensive Packaging Solutions from a Single Source
Beyond the VI 5 demonstration, IWK experts will be on hand to present the company’s extensive portfolio of packaging innovations. Highlights include the CH 4 horizontal cartoner—a scalable solution tailored for complex pharmaceutical packaging needs; the FP series tube filling systems, designed for metal, plastic, and paper tubes; and the CPC cobot, an intelligent end-of-line automation solution. Visitors can also inform about the PAC2 Packaging Competence Center at IWK Headquarters in Germany, where packaging prototypes are rigorously tested for functionality, safety, and sustainability. IWK’s use of virtual reality tools enables immersive project development, while the myIWK customer portal offers predictive maintenance and digital service management. Attendees are also invited to learn more about the award-winning TL toploader cartoning system, recognized with the German Packaging Award for its excellence in handling demanding pharmaceutical and medical applications. IWK’s outstanding global service completes this powerful one-stop offering.
