- Company predicts asset tracking, healthcare and smart metering as the three key markets for 2011
- Machine to machine communication via SIM-based connectivity comes of age

Wireless Logic, Europe's leading independent M2M provider, has been named as one of Britain's most successful technology businesses in the 2010 Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100. The Tech Track 100 ranks Britain's fastest-growing private technology companies.

The report, published on Sunday 19th September 2010, has positioned Wireless Logic as the 25th fastest growing UK technology company, based on significant sales growth over a three-year period. Headquartered in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, Wireless Logic is also extending its European footprint by setting up a German operation to penetrate the great potential within this market.

The move comes after a record-breaking year in which Wireless Logic achieved 78 per cent growth on the previous year and won a host of new projects across a variety of sectors. Wireless Logic is the preferred M2M connectivity provider for all four major UK networks - O2, Vodafone, Orange and T-Mobile - and works with over 1000 systems integrators across 40 different sectors. The company boasts an impressive client list including Masternaut Three X, one of the world's largest vehicle tracking companies, multimedia printing solutions company Konica Minolta and high-profile fast food outlets and Pizza Express.

Phil Cole, co-founder and Sales and Marketing Director, Wireless Logic says: "We are starting to see a definite surge in interest from the wider European operator community. Successfully partnering the major networks here in the UK, we have a tangible and profitable model to take M2M across Europe alongside carrier partners. Creating a business channel within Germany will allow us to more easily serve our customers and prospects throughout this region. We are also opening up opportunities in Spain and France."

Speaking of Wireless Logic's Tech Track 100 inclusion, Oliver Tucker, co-founder and Managing Director comments: "This achievement comes at a very exciting time in the history of the business. Our experience in pioneering the UK M2M market has given us a very clear view on the challenges facing the operator community in terms of data usage and the way forward for the European technology community to embrace M2M and the revenue opportunity that it represents."

Scott Dodds, General Manager, Business Strategy and Marketing at Microsoft, the title sponsor of the league table, commented: "It is great to see privately-owned technology companies such as Wireless Logic making a positive contribution to the technology industry despite tough economic conditions."

Wireless Logic has seen exponential growth in its traditional sectors of vehicle tracking and security but predicts significant growth in a number of other markets over the next 12 months. Philip Cole concludes: "Asset tracking - whether vehicles or goods - continues to grow now that economy is showing green shoots of recovery. We expect this growth to continue as this is a natural and common use for M2M technology, as is its use in security. However, as we see the emergence of smart metering solutions and smart sensors, we'll start to see huge growth in data connectivity across more and more sectors. With major smart metering projects being trialled, we predict that this market in particular will see major growth into 2011 and beyond. We also see M2M as a key enabler for many applications in healthcare, including remote monitoring and measurement of patients."

Now in its ninth year, The Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100 annual league table is compiled by Oxford-based research and networking events company Fast Track.
