EADS Cognac Aviation Training Services provides 50, 000 flight hours
- Unique outsourcing service for French Air Force Training School in Cognac
- Pioneering in comprehensive support of Pilot Training
On June 19th, EADS Cognac Aviation Training Services celebrates with French Air Force authorities the support of 50,000 flight hours logged at the Cognac Air Base. On this occasion, a joint commemorative event will be held at the Paris Airshow.
EADS Cognac Aviation Training Services (ECATS) was inaugurated in April 2006 to provide means and services allotted to pilot basic training of the French Air Force. This outsourcing operation is unique in France and pioneers in terms of the service quality provided to the French Air Force with the installation and operation of a fleet of 18 GROB 120 aircraft equipped with a new generation of IFR instrumentation (Instrument Flight Rules) and therefore qualified as Flight and Navigation Procedure flight trainers. Thus, the French Air Force has significantly modernised its pilot training syllabus based on the services provided by ECATS.
ECATS obtained from the French authorities for civil aviation the approval for civil as well as military maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) standards. The management of both a civilian and a military fleet is carried out on the same MRO standards as well as in continuing airworthiness procedures.
