USU Named in the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Customer Service Knowledge Management Systems

USU positioned as a Visionary / USU recognized for the strength of its execution and vision

(PresseBox) (Möglingen, Germany, )
The internationally recognized market research firm Gartner® has published the first edition of the 2026 Magic Quadrant™ for Customer Service Knowledge Management Systems (CS-KMS). USU is recognized as the only vendor named a Visionary and one of eight vendors worldwide evaluated in this report. The complimentary Gartner Magic Quadrant is available at USU website.

According to Gartner, “Visionaries deliver highly innovative capabilities and sophisticated CS-KMS experiences, such as advanced AI agent orchestration, autonomous knowledge generation, and deep knowledge-to-learning workflows. They embody the trends that are shaping the future of the CS-KMS market and possess strong innovation pipelines. However, they may have limitations in their Ability to Execute, which can manifest as lower brand awareness, smaller geographic reach, or evolving operational maturity compared with their counterparts.”

Dr. Benjamin Strehl, CEO of USU, about the recognition: We believe our positioning as a Visionary reflects our long-term commitment to innovation and customer success. The acquisition of Mayday marked an important step in expanding our Customer Service Knowledge Management capabilities and accelerating innovation. We are particularly pleased that Gartner recognized our Ability to Execute and Completeness of Vision. For us, this recognition reinforces our strategy of helping organizations build AI-powered customer service on a foundation of trusted knowledge.”

Knowledge Management Becomes the Foundation for Enterprise AI

According to Gartner, “The customer service knowledge management system (CS-KMS) market is undergoing a structural shift from passive content repositories to active, AI-driven reasoning layers powered by machine-readable knowledge.” Gartner notes that “the success of generative AI and agentic workflows depends directly on the quality, structure, machine-readability, and governance of the underlying knowledge. Vendors are responding by repositioning their knowledge management platforms as the foundational intelligence layer for enterprise AI, focusing on automated gap detection, continuous knowledge content health monitoring, and knowledge-in-the-flow-of-work delivery that pushes contextually relevant answers directly into the customer service agent’s flow of work.”

Johannes Biesing, Vice President Product Management at USU, explains: “For us, knowledge management has always been about more than storing and retrieving information. It should actively empower service teams, AI agents and customers with trusted, contextual knowledge. That is what we call Knowledge Empowerment. From the very beginning, we believed that there is no trustworthy AI without knowledge management. That is why we continue to invest in our AI Knowledge Platform with innovations such as AI Agent Factory, Shared Knowledge and MCP Server. In our opinion, these capabilities position USU Knowledge as the foundational knowledge layer for enterprise AI deployments.”
