Thomson (Euronext 18453; NYSE; TMS) today announced that two European operators, in Germany and Switzerland have selected Thomson’s Cirpack VoIP solutions for deploying public telephony services.

PfalzKom, a German voice and internet provider, has selected Thomson’s softswitch solution to increase their capacity and offer business telephony services. PfalzKom selected Thomson’s VoIP platform as it has a unique capability to work with both traditional telephony and IP infrastructures “Thomson’s Cirpack softswitch is unique in its kind as it manages class 4 and class 5 services over both IP and legacy networks. It enjoys a very strong reputation in Germany so we are certain we have made a wise choice. Finecom, a Swiss internet service provider, has selected Thomson’s Cirpack softswitch to offer hosted VoIP services for a large group of cable operators throughout the country. Thomson’s end-to-end cable telephony solution enabled Finecom to quickly go to market without interoperability issues. “Switzerland has a large number of small regional cable operators” said Reto Bertschi, CEO of Finecom “Using Thomson’s VoIP solutions we are able to offer these operators the means to quickly launch primary line telephony services for packaged triple play bundles.
