Solar for Schools and SDS announced a collaboration that will better Solar for Schools’ solar energy monitoring capabilities. Solar for Schools is a social impact, internet-based business enabling schools to generate their own solar energy, reduce their carbon footprint, and educate the next generation on sustainability. SDS is the manufacturer of the Energy Management System Solar-Log™ and a leading company in the areas of solar monitoring, smart energy and feed-in management. The Solar Log™ management system ensures that each solar power system functions properly, that as much of the produced energy as possible is utilized, and that the optimal voltage is maintained. Solar for Schools has decided to utilize the Solar-Log™ system as part of its solar power systems.
Solar for Schools provides schools across the United Kingdom, Germany and India with free solar power systems. It manages the funding, development, installation and on-going maintenance of its systems. Produced energy is directly used by the schools, and any surplus energy produced goes into the local energy grid. There are no up-front costs to the schools, and due to low energy prices offered by Solar for Schools, schools save money which they can reinvest into their students.
