"We consider serviceoriented architecture to be the basis for implementing business process management", says Software AG's CEO, Karl-Heinz Streibich. "That's why T-Systems and Software AG have expanded our partnership. As a processsolution operator, T-Systems has a special outsourcing offer for its customers."
Software AG considers two T-Systems solutions to be essential: the application management and modernization service pack and the new transformational outsourcing approach built on it. This is essentially a matter of not only operating a customer's IT environment (traditional outsourcing), but also modernizing and transforming it at the same time ("transformational outsourcing"). Largescale enterprises have proprietary IT applications and use hundreds of individual service providers and freelancers. Maintenance and operation get expensive, and the IT cannot support business processes optimally. Transformational outsourcing ensures a seamless process, for instance based on a standardized SAP system, without compromising business operations. With transformational outsourcing, modernization is financed from savings. Because the new IT landscape is lean, total costs are ultimately lower than with traditional outsourcing. Thus, customers who are experiencing difficult economic times can modernize without having to dig deep into their own pocket.
In particular, the overall approach of transformational outsourcing is important in times of crisis. In this extension of traditional outsourcing, service providers take over their customers' IT while modernizing and standardizing it. "This leads to leaner processes, generates additional cost advantages for clients in crisis, and lays the foundation for innovative SOA and BPM projects for the period after the crisis", said Streibich.
And in addition: "T-Systems is an established player in the application management market and provides services in over 25 countries. We combine our expertise and solutions." Streibich sees the expanded partnership as a real plus "for us and our customers".
