SLM Solutions Group AG, a leading supplier of metal-based additive manufacturing technology, is concluding new strategic partnerships and consequently further expanding its activities as a solution provider.
SLM Solutions has concluded several partnerships with leading companies in recent weeks. Together, the partners want to provide customers with a comprehensive service portfolio in metal-based additive manufacturing technology. Cooperation agreements have been concluded with Authentise Inc., USA, as well as with ROSSWAG GmbH and CRONIMET Holding GmbH.
Authentise provides software solutions that enable the use of additive manufacturing in production environments. The offered solutions include the "3Diax Modular Platform" and the Authentise "Manufacturing Execution System" (MES). The MES uses data of additive manufacturing machines to solve automation challenges and makes complete automation of order processing and tracking possible. The modularly designed platform also provides the flexibility to adapt such automation simply to existing workflows and integrate it into already existing IT systems. Thanks to this collaboration, SLM Solutions enables its customers to exploit production data in real time for the automation of process flows.
Andre Wegner, Authentise CEO, adds: "This partnership with SLM is an important step to completing the digital thread in additive manufacturing. The direct data access to SLM machines that has now been enabled can be combined with other functionalities of our 3Diax software modules to automate manual tasks. It is possible, for example, to automatically update an order status, or generate documentation that enables finished components to be traced back to source. Our 3Diax platform utilizes data in the sense of a self-learning system. The partnership also makes it easier to integrate SLM machines into SLM Solutions' customers' IT systems, and facilitates the transparent analysis of production data through the 3Diax Machine Analytics module. The partnership with SLM Solutions – a leading supplier of metal-based additive manufacturing technology – is so important because together can we expand the use of additive manufacturing machines in series production."
ROSSWAG and CRONIMET are specialists in dealing with metallic materials, superalloys and ferro-alloys. The objective of the collaboration is the development, production and distribution of special and high-performance alloys for use in additive manufacturing. The focus is especially on steel alloys to be used for applications and workpieces in high temperature environments. SLM Solutions will handle sales of the developed special and high-performance alloys.
As Dr.-Ing. Sven Donisi, CEO of ROSSWAG GmbH explains: "We decided in favour of this close collaboration with SLM Solutions - ranking as a market-leading solutions provider in the additive manufacturing area – as they supplement our process expertise, and understand users' requirements." Gregor Zenkner, Business Development Manager at CRONIMET Holding GmbH, adds: "SLM Solutions also has the right network and dedicated capacities to distribute the developed and produced metal powders in large volumes on a targeted basis."

Uwe Bögershausen, Management Board member of SLM Solutions Group AG, comments: "We're very pleased to announce this partnership with Rosswag and CRONIMET. Both companies are proven specialists in their respective areas. This partnership supports us on our continued path to becoming an integrated solution provider in the field of additive manufacturing." SLM Solutions contributes the requisite know-how from additive manufacturing and will assume responsibility for the exclusive distribution of the metal powders that are developed.
Thanks to this collaboration, customers of SLM Solutions will have access to other and more comprehensive solutions in the field of process automation and materials in the near future.
