The new C410.2ML with PROFIBUS interface

Process reliability redefined with improved communication capabilities

(PresseBox) (Immenhausen, )
Based on the proven diaphragm pump model series 410.2, sera now also offers multi-layer diaphragm pumps with the proven integrated sera control electronics (C series). For operating pressures in the range of up to 16 bar, sera can thus offer solutions for performance ranges between 70 l/h and 1,200 l/h.

The scope of applications for the multi-layer diaphragm pumps ranges from the chemical, petrochemical and pharmaceutical industry (e.g. for the dosing of additives) to the disinfection of drinking and service water in systems at pressures up to 16 bar. Likewise, the dosing of additives and aroma substances in the food and beverage industry constitutes another important application.

Multi-layer diaphragm technology for added operational safety

These pump types impress with their multi-layer diaphragms made from PTFE with integrated diaphragm condition signalling. The new multi-layer diaphragms are designed to prevent any contact between pump mechanism and medium in the event of malfunction. Neither corrosion inside the pump nor contamination of the delivery medium or the environment can therefore occur. This reduces life cycle costs (LCC) and safeguards the process.

Exact control in all pressure ranges

The C model series contains already proven sera control electronics. This is a new approach for dosing pumps for medium pressure ranges. The control electronics permit, amongst other things, the monitoring of tank levels, checking of the condition of the diaphragm, flow monitoring or measurement as well as the adaptation of the stroke velocity with high-viscosity delivery media.

In addition, the series is suitable for selections via conventional analogue and digital signals. The "sera Plug & Dose" principle facilitates cost-efficient and smooth utilisation in automatic processes and can therefore be integrated into nearly all of the operating customer's existing systems.

The advantages of the new C410.2ML at a glance:
- Safe multi-layer diaphragm technology
- User-friendly and low-maintenance
- High dosing accuracy
- Multifunctional (e.g. single stroke, batch, analogue, manual operation)
- Profibus DP interface available
- Manual stroke length and stroke frequency adjustment
- Four types available with delivery rates from 70 to 1200 l/h pressures from 5 to 16 bar possible
- Extremely safe with aggressive or toxic media
- Optimally suited for nearly all low to medium viscosities as well as conductive and non-conductive fluids
- Ready for electrical connection with CEE mains plug for 400 V three-phase current
- Integrated diaphragm monitoring (regardless of the media conductivity)
- Can be connected to two-stage level monitoring. Flow monitoring hook-up and analysis possible or alternative connection and analysis of flow metering possible (permits flow control)
- Easy integration into automatic dosing processes "sera Plug & Dose"

Communication via Profibus DP

The multifunctionally selectable C410.2ML pumps are optionally available with PROFIBUS DP interface (slave).

The PROFIBUS DP interface replaces the conventional selection options via analogue or contact signal, permits the straightforward integration of the dosing pumps in complex systems of the process industry and reduces the wiring effort required.

The advantages of Profibus DP

- Multifunctionality fully preserved
- Choice of operating mode possible via Profibus
- Comprehensive control options via Profibus possible
- Specification of stroke frequency or delivery
- Feedback of delivery rate possible
- Detailed feedback of error and status messages
- Easily integrated into PLC systems (Plug & Play)
- High reliability/safety
- Worldwide uniform standard for Profibus DP
- Manual operation possible on site
- Minimisation of the wiring effort thanks to a continuous bus line
- Comprehensive connection accessories
