The initial situation
In early 2017 CMC Texpan was developing a new EX-version of their standard oscillating screen for wood processing. Unfortunately, the big problem was that an outbreak of flames could not be ruled out. In this environment every single source of spark is a real danger. This is a very serious problem in that sector, where fires are not unusual. In a proactive effort, Texpan sought out a solution with ROSTA products.

The Solution
The idea was to develop a screen for enclosed areas, with the ability to internally suppress a possible flameout, which can cause an explosion inside the wood dust during the process. ROSTA MB’s are the ideal solution to improve environment safety, installation of this product ensures that no spark can be generated between the electric motor and the screen frame. The ATEX Motorbase has demonstrated that it is a welcomed addition into Texpan‘s existing system.
Products used
The Motorbases MB ATEX are equipment to be used in environment with explosive gas of IIC group, temperature class T5, or combustible dust max. surface temperature T 100° C. The equipment is designed according to ATEX 94/9/EC Directive and the applicable European Harmonized Standards EN 1127-1:2011, EN 13463-1:2009 and EN 13463-5:2011.
