The growth expectations up to 2020 in the German machinery industry in terms of machine production are 5.5% per year. Machine-builders in the wood processing machinery sector are slightly more optimistic with growth expectations of 6.0% per annum.
The extent of the growth shows clear differences between wood processing machines and machinery industry.
Almost every second machine-builder expects machine production to stagnate by 2020 (44%), while only every tenth manufacturer of wood processing machines expects this to happen in the case of wood processing machines.
90% of the machine-builders of wood processing machines expect growth of up to 5% per year and of over 5% to 10% per year, respectively. In the machinery industry only a good third of machine-builders (38%) have such expectations.
None of the manufacturers of wood processing machines expect a decline in production by 2020. In the machinery industry this affects 1% of machine builders.
