Throughout the course of his highly influential political and business career, Étienne Schneider has held the position of First Deputy Prime Minister of Luxembourg, as well as Minister for the Economy, Minister for Foreign Trade, Minister for Internal Security, Minister for Defence, and Minister for Health, leaving an indelible mark on Luxembourg’s political scene. Before entering government in 2012, he held the position as chairman in different energy companies such as Cegedel, Enovos, Creos, and the Société Electrique de l’Our, and lead the Société Nationale de Crédit de l’Investissement as vice chairman. Since returning to the business world in 2020, Schneider holds independant directorial roles on several boards of directors, most notably ArcelorMittal, Besix Group and Jan de Nul.
