The ERP software provider Tectura Germany and the ICT outsourcing specialist Pironet NDH have agreed on a partnership in the sector of ERP systems for medium-sized enterprises. Tectura will advise and support customers in establishing solutions based on Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Microsoft Dynamics AX. In conjunction with Pironet NDH, the company also wants to offer ERP-on-demand in future. For this purpose Pironet NDH will operate the customer systems in its own high-security data center.
Clear division of tasks important
Jörg Landwehr, Chief Sales Officer of Tectura AG, says that the special competitive situation in the ERP consulting business was the decisive factor for choosing Pironet NDH as the on-demand partner: "Despite the large number of data center operators, the selection of suitable partners for a consulting company is small because most hosters and outsourcing service providers also conduct their own integration business. Pironet NDH, on the other hand, concentrates entirely on operating business-critical systems. Our services therefore complement each other ideally."
Growing call for ERP-on-demand in the medium-sized enterprise sector
Jörg Landwehr justifies the entry into the on-demand business with the quality of the associated services which are now available: "Despite the cost benefits, until a few years ago medium-sized enterprises often hesitated to outsource operation of their business-critical systems to other companies because of supposed inadequate performance and security. That has changed thanks to the network bandwidths and security technologies which are now available. In this situation enterprises first of all ask those service providers about on-demand offerings who have set up and implemented these software systems on their customers' premises."
Model for consulting companies and software vendors
However, setting up a data center of its own was not an alternative for Tectura, explains Jörg Landwehr. Felix Höger, Chief Executive Officer of Pironet NDH, therefore sees the partnership with Tectura as a model for consulting companies and software houses alike: "Entry into the outsourcing and Software-as-a-Service businesses is becoming increasingly important for solution providers and software vendors. But offering applications on demand means more than simply hosting them.
