Pickering Interfaces To Showcase Their Comprehensive Line of PXI & LXI Switching and Instrumentation at Bias Milan show, May 2008, Booth C37-39, Hall 18 P1

(PresseBox) (Kirchheim, )
Pickering Interfaces, a global supplier in switching and instrumentation solutions, announced today it will be showcasing several new additions to its comprehensive line of PXI & LXI products together with their Italian Representative Elcomind S.r.l.

'This important Italian electronics show is perfect for us to demonstrate the breadth and depth of Pickering Interfaces unique product range, said Keith Moore, Director of Pickering Interfaces. Bias Milano is a good opportunity to highlight the most complete range of switching cards and focused instrumentation in the industry to an even wider audience in the electronic's market. Pickering has the tools necessary, allowing our clients to innovate without boundaries".

Amongst others the following products will be on display:

The 40-560 PXI BRIC is a range of ultra high density matrix modules. These modules are available in 2, 4 or 8 slot PXI sizes to suit all high performance PXI Matrix requirements, constructed using instrumentation quality reed relays for maximum switching confidence. Typical applications include signal routing for In-Circuit or Functional ATE systems. With this high level of switching density 40-560 PXI matrix modules allow a complete Functional ATE system to be housed in a single 3U PXI chassis, BRIC Modules allow the use of much lower cost 8 or 14 slot PXI chassis.

The 60-711 is a Dual 24x8 Video Matrix Module suitable for switching frequencies up to 25MHz. It has a characteristic impedance of 75 Ohm with the option of SMB or MCX connectors. It is designed to provide a simple and scalable bi-directional matrix for video frequencies and is intended for the easy construction of high performance bi-directional matrix switching systems. Software configuration allows the 60-711 to be set as a dual 24 by 8 matrix, a single 48 by 8 matrix and other configurations. All connections to the matrices are accessible from the front panel.

The 60-510 is a high density 1-pole 56 x 33 matrix module controlled via LXI. It has excellent thermal stability and substantially reduced thermal EMF figures when compared to a conventional switching matrix. Typical applications include signal routing in ATE, selecting thermocouple inputs, switching amplifier gain circuits and high accuracy DC microvolt measurements. Ruthenium reed switches are used because of their good low level switching capability. They also have a very long life with excellent contact resistance stability, minimal wetting current and low thermal offset. The 60-510 is designed in accordance with the LXI Class C standard and is supplied in a 2U high, full rack width case with 500 mm depth.

Second Edition of LXImate
Pickering Interfaces has published the second edition of its successful publication- LXImate. The LXImate 130 page book provides an easy to read description of the LXI Standard, product availability, and its evolution, and will be available at the show.

The LXI Standard is accepted as the natural replacement for GPIB, providing an interface that applies the power of the Web to test and measurement. LXI opens up new possibilities for the creation of time aware local and distributed test systems that are simple to configure and put together using standard Ethernet interconnections. In less than two and half years since the publication of the standard almost 500 products have been introduced or upgraded by the major Test and Measurement vendors to comply with the standard.
