Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has equipped its fleet planning department with Pacelab Cabin. The configuration software by Berlin-based IT provider PACE will be used to explore prospective seating arrangements of passenger cabins, both for in-service aircraft and new deliveries.
The Pacelab Cabin software enhances the efficiency of the cabin layout process and quality of the overall design with flexible parametric modeling, intelligent positioning features and automatic compliance checks.
With the software, Etihad’s cabin engineers will be able to rapidly set up a large number of layout alternatives and conduct detailed pre-investigations ensuring that the interior not only reflects the airline’s service philosophy but also meets the relevant certification regulations.
Etihad Airways is recognized as one of the world’s fastest growing commercial carriers. The airline made history in July by announcing the largest ever commercial aircraft order at the Farnborough International Airshow in the UK. The total deal for up to 205 wide-body and narrow-body planes is worth approximately US billion, at list prices and comprises 100 firm orders for a combination of Boeing and Airbus aircraft.
