The company OWIS from Staufen im Breisgau (Germany), a specialist in optical beam handling and positioning systems, settled its corporate succession. The previous managing director and shareholder Ruediger Ruh will take over the company with effect from January 1, 2021. The previous co-partner Diana Breiner, daughter of the company's founder Herbert Breiner, left the company at the end of the year after many successful years.
Ruh, who joined the company as managing director in 2018, studied precision engineering at the FH Furtwangen (Germany). He worked for many years as a development engineer, development manager and as managing director. His focus was on mechanical engineering, optical sensor technology and laser technology.
New business division OWIS Engineering
With the takeover, OWIS gains a strategy focusing on the future. It will maintain and expand its well-established standard product portfolio, which is characterized by very high precision and quality. The products are primarily used in research and development of well-known research institutes and industrial companies.
Key component of the strategy is the newly created OWIS Engineering division. The company hereby further expands its system expertise in customer-specific solutions as well as in the development of complete system solutions.
