OQEMA AG appointed Hartmut Kunz as Chief Financial Officer as of 1 April. ‘I have always been driven by the need to make a difference in a company’, says the trained industrial engineer. In the course of his career at Ernst & Young and Roland Berger, Mr Kunz combined sound financial knowledge with operational and strategic aspects in a variety of retail companies.
In his new role as CFO, he succeeds Sabine Moritz and will be responsible for group finance, controlling and consolidation, treasury, IT, legal and insurance, compliance, data protection and marketing and communication. ‘With Hartmut Kunz, we have been able to gain an internationally experienced manager with proven expertise as a new member of the Executive Board. During his career, Hartmut Kunz has impressively proven that he can successfully develop companies. We were able to experience this for ourselves in an earlier consulting project,’ says Peter Overlack.

Hartmut Kunz has 12 years of international experience through a multitude of consulting projects. After graduating in engineering and economics from the technical universities in Dresden and Lyons, he started his career at Ernst & Young in the field of transactions and restructuring. He then moved to Roland Berger, where he was a principal in the management team in the areas of restructuring, performance and transformation at the Munich office.
