The Kemptner Hütte is one of the largest and most important mountain huts run by the German Alpine Association (Deutscher Alpenverein, DAV). It is located on the E5 European long-distance hiking trail and is therefore used by many hikers for refreshments or overnight stays. After the previous wastewater solution was a soak pit near the hut and the number of visitors had steadily increased over the years, a new solution for the wastewater had to be found also in the interests of environmental protection and sustainability.
The specialists from NETZSCH were able to draw on more than 70 years of experience from the manufacturer of positive displacement pumps and ultimately present a customised solution that could be implemented even in challenging terrain and runs to the satisfaction of the hut operators.
The entire success story of wastewater handling at the Kemptner Hütte with the help of NETZSCH products can be found here.
