The new dimension of industrial cleaning at InnoTrans 2018 in Berlin - mycon GmbH is pleased with the course of the event

InnoTrans 2018 brought interesting contacts and discussions - mycon presented innovations and developments for cleaning, decoating and coating especially for the railway sector

(PresseBox) (Bielefeld, )
"If there is a way to do something better: Find it!" - Following the quote of the inventor Thomas Alva Edison, mycon GmbH presented the new dimension of industrial cleaning at InnoTrans 2018. mycon GmbH presented its solutions for cleaning, decoating and coating in the field of railway technology.

The systems work quickly, gently and with little waste - this is how the use of mycon products pays off in the shortest possible time.

The rental service of mycon GmbH also offers the possibility to use the advantages of the mycon devices without high investment costs.

Regional contacts offer many advantages, especially in the area of service. For this reason, mycon GmbH participates in a company in Switzerland, Puraclean GmbH and Net Tec Systems in France. Contact persons from both investment companies were on site at InnoTrans, made contacts and provided advice to potential customers and visitors. A large number of cleaning processes for railway technology were presented. In addition, suggestions for further developments and improvements were discussed and incorporated. The examination of the possibilities is already underway and will be discussed with individual interested parties.

The systems for cleaning and decoating described below met with particularly great interest among the trade visitors to the trade fair.

JetMaster - Cleaning of heat exchangers to ensure the functionality of air conditioning / ventilation systems

JetMaster is mycon's gentle cleaning system for the intensive cleaning of sensitive fin surfaces of heat exchangers. Deep cleaning with JetMaster ensures the functionality of air conditioning / ventilation systems. JetMaster is also available in automated versions.

The patented JetMaster system gently but intensively cleans heat exchangers and other sensitive surfaces at low pressure. Even sensitive surfaces such as soft coatings, graphite, glass, foils etc. can be cleaned intensively without damage.

Depending on the location and environment, finned heat exchangers / coolers can become soiled very quickly. Industrial dust, calcification, pollen and other influences cause continuous deposits with negative effects on function and efficiency and thus not least on energy consumption.

Contamination of an air-cooled condenser or liquid cooler forms an insulating layer, reducing energy efficiency and thereby increasing the cost of electricity, maintenance and service. In addition, the corrosion of the fins reduces the operating time of these units.

The JetMaster's high-performance nozzles bring compressed air and a small amount of water, especially pre-treated in the unit, to supersonic speed at low pressure. The gentle jet penetrates deeply into the heat exchanger surfaces to be cleaned without bending or damaging the fins. The dirt is gently but effectively removed from the surfaces by cavitation and discharged by the jet. Damage to the lamella surfaces, as is possible with the use of high-pressure water cleaning, is completely eliminated if the JetMaster is used properly.

PowerMaster - gentle, powerful and low-waste cleaning and paint stripping

The proven PowerMaster cleaning process is based on an environmentally friendly and water-soluble granulate which is fed into a compressed air jet. Shortly before leaving the jet nozzle, the granulate is moistened with water to increase the kinetic energy. The system works cost-effectively in the low-pressure range between 3 and 8 bar compressed air with a low consumption of operating resources. The range of applications for the PowerMaster process is extremely broad: Foils, paints, varnishes or resins, greases, bituminous layers or release agents can be removed gently, quickly and economically with PowerMaster. When using the abrasives recommended by mycon, even polished stainless steel surfaces or light metal surfaces can be cleaned or decoated without visual impairment of the metal surfaces. The granulate does not impair the function of a downstream light liquid separator if required. PowerMaster is also available as a fully automated cleaning system.

PowerMaster cleans, de-paints and decoats powerfully with little waste. PowerMaster can also be used for cleaning plastic surfaces if a lower compressed air value is set. PowerMaster can be equipped with special nozzles up to 160 mm wide for cleaning large surfaces. When removing light dirt, PowerMaster can also be used with a combination unit to remove painted surfaces.

IceMaster – Modern industrial cleaning with dry ice

The IceMaster System from mycon GmbH produces dry ice or dry snow from liquid CO2 directly in the blasting gun. The dry ice produced is fed into a compressed air stream and blasted at high speed onto the surfaces to be cleaned. The process enables cost-effective and unlimited automated cleaning according to the customer's requirements. If required, complete workplaces and soundproofed automation solutions are also possible.

Conventional dry ice blasting has been successfully used for cleaning purposes in numerous industrial sectors for quite some time. However, high operating costs, a complex infrastructure and a lack of automation capability prevented the process from exceeding a market niche despite its good performance.

The patented IceMaster process revolutionizes dry ice blasting for industrial cleaning. Low operating costs, full automation capability, constant availability without re-ordering dry ice pellets are just a few of the many advantages.

A mycon special solution also enables the cleaning of electronic components with IceMaster without electrostatic charging. Further possible applications are the cleaning of plastic or metal surfaces.

Application advantages:
  • Minimized operating costs
  • Low compressed air requirement: from 1.00 cbm air volume - min. / 1 bar
  • No investments required, IceMaster is also available for rent on request
  • Permanent availability
  • Easy to use
  • Complete automation capability
SpeedMaster and SpeedMaster SR get rid of your grease - even from sensitive surfaces

The JetMaster system from mycon GmbH has been successfully used for years to clean lamella heat exchangers and other sensitive surfaces in railway companies. Kipp Umwelttechnik GmbH, a sister company of mycon, has now developed another process for removing even highly viscous grease layers: SpeedMaster. The SpeedMaster process is just as gentle as the JetMaster system. SpeedMaster can be used for the cleaning of wheelsets and bogies in the railway sector, for the internal cleaning of tanks but also for the cleaning of pipes, rods and profiles. The cleaning agent used can be reprocessed.

SpeedMaster SR removes almost all residues, including highly viscous grease layers, from painted surfaces with a large area jet without damaging them. Also brake dusts and calcifications can be loosened and removed. The liquids used in this process are separable and can be used several times.

FilterMaster reliably cleans even large diesel particle filters and catalytic converters without separating the housing

Successful cleaning of particle filters from locomotives, ships, buses, trucks etc. is possible with the mycon FilterMaster cleaning systems and has been carried out many times.

The patented filter cleaning systems FilterMaster for trucks and more and FilterMaster for cars and more represent a new form compared to the previous concepts in the cleaning range for DPF.

FilterMaster for trucks and more

Certain carbon dioxide-compressed air mixtures and, in some cases, other industrial gases are used for filters that are openly accessible at the front sides. Specially developed jet nozzles are used to clean the metal and ceramic filter surfaces.

Each type of filter can be controlled with process precision and processed with exact repeat accuracy. The system works in a closed circuit. Even square filters of older design can be cleaned without any problems. Depending on the type of filter, the entire filter surface is automatically controlled and removed almost completely from the original soot and ash content.

FilterMaster for cars and more

The patented cleaning system FilterMaster for cars and more is used for cleaning exhaust particle filters whose filter surfaces are not completely accessible through the housing. No separation of the filter housing is necessary for cleaning with this system. Even filters of any size that are difficult to access, even with upstream baffle plates or similar flow deflectors, can be cleaned with this cleaning system without problems and with little residue. Thus a weakening of the housing due to welding seams or corrosion caused by welding can be excluded from the beginning.

A fully automated mycon filter cleaning system is available to the customer on request for particle filter cleaning with regular filter cleaning. Like all mycon units, these cleaning stations are also available on a rental basis without any investment costs, including installation / commissioning on site.
