Change at the helm of MTU Maintenance Hannover in Langenhagen

Holger Sindemann to succeed Dr. Martin Funk

(PresseBox) (Hannover, ) Langenhagen-based MTU Maintenance Hannover will have a new man at the helm: Holger Sindemann (43) has been appointed its Managing Director & Senior Vice President, effective May 1. Sindemann takes over from Dr. Martin Funk (50), who has led the largest of MTU Maintenance's companies for almost three years and will now be pursuing new challenges.

Holger Sindemann studied at RWTH Aachen University and holds a de-gree in mechanical engineering, majoring in aerospace engineering. He started out in the structural engineering area at former Daimler-Benz Aer-ospace Airbus GmbH and then worked for Roland Berger Strategy Con-sultants for almost ten years, moving up to the status of Partner in the Aerospace/Aviation Center of Competence in 2002. At the beginning of 2006, Sindemann joined MTU Aero Engines in Munich as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development. MTU Maintenance Hannover specializes in the repair and overhaul of medium- and large-scale commercial engines, among them the GE CF6-50, CF6-80C2 and GE90-110/115, the Pratt & Whitney PW2000, the IAE V2500, and the CFMI CFM56-7. The MTU Maintenance group of compa-nies, the world's largest independent provider of commercial engine maintenance services, is the MRO arm of MTU Aero Engines, Germany's leading engine manufacturer and the country's only independent engine builder. MTU has a workforce of some 8,200 employees worldwide. A technology leader, the company excels in low-pressure turbines and high-pressure compressors, as well as in manufacturing and repair techniques. In the military arena, MTU Aero Engines is Germany's industrial lead company for practically all engines flown by the country's air force.
