Tetsuo Kuba joined the company's Automotive Components Division in 1982 and became its managing director in the year 2000. After changing to the Corporate Fine Ceramics Division, he took on the position of Executive Officer for this segment in 2003 and finally, in 2005, the successful management of Kyocera's component business, the Corporate Fine Ceramics Group and Corporate Semiconductor Components Group. In 2008 he joined the Supervisory Board.
This management reorganization is the Kyocera Corporation's response to the current challenges, which Kuba aims to master as quickly as possible, working in close cooperation with his predecessor Makoto Kawamura. Kuba continued: "At the end of the day, we don't want the company's 50th birthday celebrations in April to be marred in any way by the difficult economic situation."
