It's MILE family Open House event at the Fabio Perini premises in Lucca

The participation of over 300 international guests to the "It's MILE Family" event, organized on 1st April by the Fabio Perini companies and W+D-Langhammer GmbH, confirms the growth trend of the companies, which are part of the Körber PaperLink Group.

Customers and partners of the companies arrived in Lucca, Italy directly from the Tissue World show in Nice. On demonstration at the Fabio Perini facilities in Lucca was the new MILE 5.1 line, integrated with the Casmatic wrapper model CMW 425, the bundler model S15 and, for palletizing, W+D-Langhammer technology with the palletizer model LR02.

A synergic event among these companies of the Körber PaperLink Group that supplied a technological answer to tissue professionals seeking the latest innovations in the fields of converting, packaging and palletizing. With the new MILE 5.1 line, the Fabio Perini company, established world leader in the field of converting, performed an exercise in style by incorporating high technological standards in a line that is perfect for the medium segment of the market. The new machine on demonstration attained a speed of 550 mpm, confirming its high production performances. Flexibility and versatility of the MILE 5.1 line were demonstrated during a product changeover from kitchen towels to toilet rolls performed in 30 minutes, and the change in configuration from DESL to Point-to-Point made by the team of Perini technicians in a record time of 1 hour and 9 minutes.

The integration with packaging by Casmatic and palletizing by W+D-Langhammer testified to the synergy among the three brands and the capability of proposing integrated converting-packaging systems solutions. The linear robot LR 02 from W+D-Langhammer with its two columns is able to handle complete layers and at the same time empty pallets and slip sheets. The patented built in slipsheet separator ("Woodpecker") makes for safety during the entire process, thus increasing operational availability and the performance speed. The HMI allows for easy operation of the complete system; the intuitive user surface is characterized by its simple symbolic operation language. This is a cost and space effective palletizing solution for the medium power range.

Another machine presented was the CMR-LA01 Bundler. This machine is a joint development of W+D-Langhammer and Casmatic.
