In October, the number of workers on short time at the Bad Kreuznach site dropped to around 50 people working 15% less on average each month. Back in March, around 230 employees were affected. The company has seen a rise in demand, in particular from Asia and the USA. Demand has increased mainly for filters for the consumer segment, cinema projection and industrial optics. The automotive and semiconductor markets as well as mechanical engineering, on the other hand, are still weak. The Schneider Group is well positioned thanks to its broad customer base in a variety of industries, which makes it less vulnerable. “We are pleased that incoming orders to the end of the year have gone up. This confirms our strategy and our increased efforts to break into new markets”, says Dr. Josef Staub, CEO of the Schneider Group.
