Jenoptik's Traffic Solutions division and its local partner Telco International have received a contract to deliver non-invasive TraffiStar systems in the latest cabinet design to the Ministry of Interior in Qatar. The division has already successfully supplied many countries in the region.
The Traffic Solutions division will deliver over 60 stationary speed and red-light enforcement systems as part of Qatar's initiative to improve road safety. The order in the single-digit million euro range incorporates modern TraffiStar systems capable of measuring both approaching and departing traffic, without the need for any in-road equipment. First deliveries will start in November 2013.
The systems will be housed in the new innovative designer cabinet, TraffiTower 2.0, combining aesthetics with high performance to meet the needs of current developments and future challenges in Qatar's ever-expanding infrastructure.
Jenoptik's Traffic Solutions division has been associated with the Traffic Department of the Ministry of Interior in Qatar since 1993 and has since then supplied roadside, red light, tripod and in-vehicle systems to Qatar.
