"Many modules show a significant deterioration in performance in warmer regions, such as southern Europe, but ITS modules continue to generate high energy yields even in warmer climates," reports Dr. Thomas Hillig, Vice President Module Sales & Marketing at Innotech Solar. With a temperature coefficient of minus 0.39 percent per Kelvin, the ITS module ranks among the best photovoltaic modules in the photon test field. This is compared to an average temperature coefficient of only minus 0.43 percent per Kelvin across all of the modules tested. "As an example, a solar system in Italy with an output of 500 kWp fitted with ITS EcoPlus modules generates around 14 MWh more electricity thanks to the excellent temperature coefficient than a system installed with modules that only have an average temperature coefficient. In warmer regions, this additional yield increases accordingly."
ITS modules are produced in an innovative process, making them particularly environmentally friendly and their carbon footprint is more than 50 percent below that of conventional European modules. Innotech research teams have developed a process that enhances the performance of low-efficiency solar cells by using thermal imaging to detect low-performing cell areas and automatically isolating them with special lasers. It is with these optimized cells that Innotech Solar produces its modules.
After processing, the cells are thoroughly checked using additional thermal imaging to make sure that they are free from hot spots, which could damage the solar modules and result in significant yield losses. Tests by independent experts, such as the Photovoltaik-Institut Berlin and PV Lab, also confirm the high performance of Innotech Solar modules. In addition, they have been successfully tested for their resistance to ammonia and salt spray. Innotech Solar's quality, environmental and occupational health and safety management systems have been certified under ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
