3rd International Electric Vehicles Congress from 6 - 8 December in Berlin

(PresseBox) (Berlin, ) Reducing the consumption of fossil fuels in the automotive industry is today more necessary than ever and the race for sustainable transport solutions is underway. Government grants and massive R&D investments by major players have triggered huge progress in the field in recent years, but some major technical challenges remain. At IQPC’s 3rd International Electric Vehicles Congress from 6 - 8 December, delegates will have the chance to discuss with OEMs and other industry professionals current developments in the industry and the challenges facing electric vehicle technology.

Experts from leading OEMs, such as Daimler AG, Ford, THINK and Lotus Engineering, will present new technologies, developments, and case studies in the electric vehicle market today.

Congress day one, Monday 4 December, will focus on the commercialisation of electric vehicles, powertrain optimisation, energy saving potential, and charging & infrastructure, and will also feature an onsite exhibit of BMW Group’s Project i, the Megacity Vehicle, due for release in 2013. Afterwards, an evening panel discussion will offer conference delegates the chance to take part in discussions on electric vehicles’ charging infrastructure and technology.

On day two of the congress, the focus will be on energy storage solutions, battery testing, and climate control in electric vehicles. Speakers from Siemens AG, Axeon Power Ltd, MAGNA E-Car Systems GmbH & Co. OG and GM Europe Engineering will take the floor to discuss the challenges currently facing electric vehicle development.

During the interactive workshop day on Wednesday, 6 December, delegates are encouraged to examine more in-depth the topics presented in the preceding two congress days, including thermoelectricity, different powertrains for different applications, and combustion engines as enablers for e-mobility.
