The inPuncto archive is aimed at SAP customers seeking a lean and rapidly deployable archiving solution. The software integrates into existing system landscapes without additional middleware and supports both standard and complex archiving scenarios. The solution can be operated both on-premise and in cloud environments, making it suitable for traditional, hybrid, and cloud-based IT strategies alike.
With Release 4.2, inPuncto expands the platform with support for new database versions, additional cloud storage options, and technical optimizations for operations and system stability.
Modern Platform Technology with Long-Term Support
The new version 4.2 is based on .NET 10 and includes long-term support through November 2028, providing companies with a future-proof technology platform.
Increased Database Capacity for Growing Archives
Support for Microsoft SQL Server Express 2025 increases the maximum database size from 10 GB to 50 GB. This allows organizations to manage larger archive volumes without requiring additional database licenses. The solution also supports PostgreSQL 18, a high-performance open-source database with support through 2030.
Cloud Storage Integration for Hybrid Archiving Strategies
New storage adapters enable the use of Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure as archive storage platforms. Archive data can therefore be stored directly in cloud storage or integrated into hybrid storage architectures.
Automated Integrity Validation of Archived Documents
Version 4.2 introduces scheduled file validation capabilities, enabling the automatic and regular verification of archived document integrity.
Enhancements for Operations and System Performance
The release also includes several technical optimizations:
- Refined database user permissions for validating database backups
- Improved database performance through optimized index structures
- More efficient use of system resources
The areas of administration and system communication have also been expanded with new capabilities:
- Scheduled delivery of administrator notifications as bundled emails
- Support for modern security standards such as OAuth2 and TLS for email delivery
- Authentication using client secrets or certificates
- Extended login options for system emails, including the “anonymous” login type
