As the board measures only 36 x 36 mm, the minimal dimensions make the USB 3.0 board-level camera interesting for small apparatus engineers. They also benefit from the numerous connection options, which include an 8-pin connector with 5 V power supply, trigger and flash, two GPIOs, and an I2C bus to control the peripherals.
The cost-effective industrial camera with a backside-illuminated CMOS sensor delivers images in the following resolutions amongst others: Full HD (1920 x 1080, 37 fps), 4K Cinema (4096 x 2304, 18 fps) and 18 MP (4912 x 3684, 11 fps). The BSI sensor shows a much better pixel performance, even under low-light conditions, as the image sensor with its light-sensitive structures is directly located behind the lens, allowing more light to reach the photodiode.
In addition to a board-level version with S-Mount lens holder and a
single-board version, a housed version is also available. The IDS Software Suite is included which is a SDK across multiple interfaces. This driver package enables time-saving integration for users, and easy switching from USB 2.0 to USB 3.0 technology.
