IDC Energy Insights today announced the appointment of Jean-François Segalotto as senior research analyst for IDC Energy Insights' Europe, Middle East, and Africa region. Based in IDC's Milan office, Segalotto will lead IDC Energy Insights' Europe, Middle East and Africa Smart Energy Strategies program, with particular research focus on smart energy initiatives such as smart metering, integration of distributed energy, network automation, virtual power plant, demand response and customer engagement, energy efficiency, and emobility needs.
Segalotto has over nine years' experience as a market analyst in the telecoms, broadcast, and digital media sectors, working first at ThinkTel (Milan) and at e-Media Research (Milan, London). Previously, Segalotto collaborated as a research fellow and co-author with the IMF's Monetary and Capital Markets Department on monetary institutional frameworks and monetary policy.
Segalotto is bilingual in Italian and French and fluent in English. He is a regular speaker at industry conferences and contributes to several industry publications.
