The biotechnology company ibidi has been awarded the Bronze Medal by the renowned Paris-based rating agency EcoVadis for its sustainability management. This places ibidi,
a leading manufacturer of advanced cell microscopy products, among the top 35% of companies assessed by EcoVadis. For 2024, EcoVadis lists 100,000 active companies worldwide that have been evaluated in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
The award is based on a comprehensive evaluation process that considers a total of 21 CSR criteria across four overarching themes: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. EcoVadis draws on international standards such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the UN Global Compact, and ISO 26000.
ibidi was able to demonstrate in detail that sustainability is a structural core element of its management processes and specific actions.
This earned the company the Bronze Medal—an exceptional outcome for a first-time assessment, given the stringent require-ments. The analysts were particularly impressed by ibidis consistent commitment to sustainability across its entire value and supply chain.
“Many of our customers request CSR disclosures, which is a considerable investment of time for us as a lean, medium-sized enterprise,” explains Dr. Valentin Kahl, who, together with Dr. Roman Zantl, forms the company’s executive management. “Nonetheless, we view this as an important step to make ibidi’s responsible practices transparent to customers, employees, and the public.
