Prof. Chen Jin, library director of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, which recently went live with Primo, commented: "The library has always provided cutting-edge IT services. The Primo Web 2.0 functionalities and unified interface are exactly the type of functionalities our users demand. Having implemented the Ex Libris Aleph® integrated library system, MetaLib® gateway and metasearch portal, and SFX® OpenURL link resolver over a year ago, we are fully confident of Ex Libris China's constant support."

Peter Hughes, library director of Unitec New Zealand, explained that the library selected Primo along with MetaLib and SFX for their emphasis on the user experience and streamlined access to information. "Primo will give our users the simple yet powerful search capability and access to resources, user input options, and flexible architecture that they have come to expect in the era of Google and Web 2.0 technologies," commented Hughes. "We particularly value the commitment of Ex Libris to collaborating with its active user community via initiatives such as the product working groups and EL Commons."

"The University of East London required a unified search interface for their print, electronic, and digital collections," noted Gurdish Sandhu, associate director (systems) at the University. "We like Primo's contemporary interface and are impressed with the system's ability to interact seamlessly with, and be embedded in, our other library and institutional applications, such as our digital archive, virtual learning environment, and institutional portals. We feel that our vision and future library strategy mesh with the Ex Libris corporate strategy," she added. "I am delighted to welcome these distinguished institutions to the rapidly growing international Primo community, now numbering over 180 institutions and spanning 23 countries," commented Nancy Dushkin, vice president of marketing at Ex Libris. "It is also a great pleasure to see Shanghai Jiao Tong University go live with Primo. Shanghai Jiao Tong University provides an excellent example of Primo's ability to locate and deliver resources in many languages. Using Primo's out-of-the-box flexibility, the library has created a pipe for harvesting records cataloged in the Chinese MARC format (CNMARC). The library has also taken advantage of Primo's Deep Search functionality to provide users with result sets combining local results with information from the largest Chinese repository of e-books and other scholarly materials."
