MySQL and the Fork MariaDB are two of the most popular and powerful open source databases and run with almost every Linux distribution as a standard installation. Both systems are based on the same software kernel and are almost identical in handling by the underlying SQL database language. Some minor differences regarding usable features and extensions may appear between MariaDB and mySQL.
By providing these additional database systems and versions, EUserv enables its customers to take advantage of new features. Current content management systems (CMS) such as Wordpress, Joomla, Magento or Drupal can be migrated to the new versions if one of these new database versions is required for operation. Users with a hosting account can select the desired version in Euserv customer panel via a dropdown menu.
