For the medical software ISIS MED, highly sensitive health data needs to be stored and managed in the Cloud. The eperi Encryption Gateway secures the health data on the IBM Softlayer platform quickly and easily. The eperi solution provides the advantage that neither the encryption is executed in the database nor the keys are stored there. Both happen in the secure environment of the eperi Encryption Gateway. Thus, even database administrators cannot access the unencrypted data.

InDiNet means innovative services in the future Internet and is a Software Cluster joint project. The Software Cluster explores principles of emergent software, especially in Cloud environments.
Conjointly, a scenario was developed which demonstrates how cloud-based internet services combine and prepare information from different services. If e.g. the car breaks down and the question arises how to alternatively reach the destination, the service compares options like train, bus, taxi, rental car, bike etc. and suggests an optimal solution.
The complete solution developed by eperi, protects the emergent Cloud service on basis of a secure user administration, while processing authorization and authentication of all users. Additionally, the eperi Encryption Gateway secures all sensitive data exchanged between the systems. Not only the personal data but also the payment system is particularly protected.
In 2014, the CeBIT slogan is called datability. IBM uses this artificial word to explain “the ability to intelligently analyze and responsibly use mounds of data with high speed”.
