THE GREEN EXPO 2016 noted nearly 200 exhibiting companies and more than 11.600 visitors from 34 countries. National and international exhibitors presented their products and services in the fields of photovoltaic, solarthermics, biomass, recycling and waste management as well as energy saving concepts. Alongside the exhibition CONIECO, Mexico´s national council of industrial ecologists held the International Environmental Congress with the key topics climate change, energy turnaround, standards for municipal waste and environmental management in big cities. The analysis of last year’s event showed that 79% of the attendees are part of the decision buying process, 12% come from governmental structures and there is an increasing attendance from other Latin American countries.
The organizer E.J.Krause is pleased to welcome the German pavilion, supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) once again. With the development of environmental legislation and increasing awareness Mexico’s market is steadily and rapidly growing. It is the second most important market in Latin America after Brazil. Mexico imports a high share of its environmental equipment and services to meet the growing demand. This is generating potential opportunities for European technology.
