In H1 2016, the global automotive M&A deal volume and deal value underperformed in relation to the first half of 2015. The deal value of $21.3bn in H1 2016 decreased by 37% compared to H1 2015. Europe stayed the most active region for M&A activity with an decrease in volume and share of deal value.

Autonomous driving is the highlight project and is becoming an important purchase criteria for the future, 62% of the CEOs expect it. The number of hybrid- and electro vehicles are expected to increase in the three global markets EU, NAFTA and China for new registered cars to be more than 75% by 2030.
