In the course of the analysis “Vendor Landscape: Digital Asset Management, 2016“, Forrester Research closely examined 26 DAM providers. The analysts checked the extent that the solutions met the demands of future-proof Digital Asset Management. Within that, the consulting firm differentiates between three scenarios for the application of a DAM solution: enterprise – i.e. company-wide, in marketing and in media production.
Forrester identifies three factors in the market observation that will cause a disruption in the anyway fragmented DAM market: the increasing application of Cloud-based services in the shape of “Platform-as-a-Service” (PaaS) and “Software-as-a-Service“ (SaaS) as well as the increasing demand for interoperability between DAM- and other digital solutions and the ability of analyzing the DAM software to measure the content performance.
