The event kicked off Canto’s 20th anniversary celebration, complete with a look back over the company’s first two decades, and a recognition of valued employees, past and present. Presentations of Cumulus and Cumulus Sites, Canto’s new Web technology, followed. Canto partners demonstrated Cumulus add-on products of their own during the two-day event. Among the featured developments were workflow automation tools, video editing and converting utilities, and an iPhone/iPad Cumulus client from German Canto partner Vitras.
“It’s great to have an easy-to-use Cumulus interface for iPhone and iPad users,” explained Canto CEO, Ulrich Knocke. “This not only enables on-the-go approvals, it’s really a fantastic and fast way to browse assets anywhere 3G coverage is available.”
Vitras also showed a new add-on for Cumulus that enables users to edit and convert cataloged video files interactively, downloading the result in any format needed.
Canto partner Modula4 showed its revolutionary ImageSorter module running inside
Cumulus Sites, bringing interactive visual search capabilities to Sites users. The company announced the module would also be available for the Cumulus Native Client.
Other partner presenters included Amides (Belgium), DataBasics (Australia), Idea7 (France), Infowerk (Germany), Interaktion (Switzerland), Otec Europe, Moksa (USA), and 2Imagine (Belgium).
Even volcanic eruptions couldn’t diminish attendees’ enthusiasm, as Vincent DiPaola, from U.S. Canto partner Moksa explains.
“We’re not sure when we’ll actually get home, but the partner networking and the Berlin weather have both been wonderful, so we have no regrets. Plus, we’re taking advantage of additional face time with Canto to plan future events. Over all, this has been a great event.”
