AutomationML e.V. and CADENAS GmbH together present the new AutomationML 3D download portal at the InspireAutomationCamp, hosted by Festo, together with other industry partners of automation technology, from 25 to 27 February 2019 in Esslingen, Germany. The goal of the new 3D data portal is to depict the digital twin perfectly for all CAD systems on the basis of the open AutomationML (*.aml) format for manufacturing automation. Engineers worldwide can register free of charge at https://automationml.partcommunity.comand download AutomationML data as well as engineering data in over 150 standard CAD formats.

The goal of AutomationML e.V., founded in 2009, is the distribution and further development of AutomationML as an open, free industry standard for the company-wide exchange of data for the planning of manufacturing systems. The data format is neutral and should offer all options in the future: consistent programming, operation and data output of digital tools.
Numerous active AutomationML members such as Festo, ABB, Balluff, PHOENIX CONTACT, Schneider Electric, Sick, etc. are already making their intelligent engineering data available on the 3D CAD download portal based on the CADENAS technology.
Thus, component manufacturers are taking the decisive step towards digital product transformation
The geometry of a component alone is not sufficient for a design. With an Electronic Product Catalog based on the eCATALOGsolutions technology powered by CADENAS, the 3D CAD models receive intelligent functions that go beyond mere geometry.
