The German Institute for Management and Economic Research (IMWF – Institut für Management- und Wirtschaftsforschung GmbH) analyzed and evaluated the fairness of working conditions in the 20,000 largest German companies by number of employees. The study was assessed for the German business magazine Focus Money with the help of what is known as “social listening.”*
Among others, 279 mechanical and plant engineering companies were considered. Only twelve of them scored at least 60 out of a possible 100 points, meeting the criteria for excellence. Busch Holding achieved second place among the mechanical and plant engineering companies with 98.7 out of 100 points. Across all sectors, around 300 of the 20,000 companies considered received awards.

For the evaluation, more than 530,000 online mentions and several million social media sources were examined and evaluated. The analysis looked for the keywords “fairness,” “corporate culture” and “working atmosphere,” published from December 2021 to December 2022. The terms “corporate culture” and “working atmosphere” each accounted for 25 percent and “fairness” for 50 percent of the total.
