BPS International and its "BIM it!" team are committed to numerous international Building Information Modeling projects as BIM manager. "BIM it!" is an international 60+ employee architecture and engineering practice that combines planning with BIM services, (strategic) BIM consulting and (operational) BIM management.
The company has now launched BIM Manager services for Germany-based projects and facilities and, therefore, "BIM it!" has opened a BIM manager office and BIM practice in Munich by January 2015 to serve the entire Germany region.
"Especially for foreign investors in Germany, our BIM Managers combine international expertise in managing and maintaining BIM projects and BIModels under British and American standards with local knowledge and work experience plus physical presence at any spot in Germany and neighboring countries.", explains Tobias Schmidt, who coordinates the BIM projects of BPS International in the German region.
In the past years, the "BIM it!" team has built up a track record as BIM manager and BIM project party for American, British, Chinese, Russian and Swiss investors, masterplanners and architects. Due to the latest rise of Building Information Modeling in Germany, "BIM it!" has opened its BIM-focused office in Munich by 2015 to be the first and multi-skilled BIM Manager for foreign and local investors in Germany,
- during design stage of a building,
- during construction stage,
- during operation stage, for Facility Management and Property Management
Interesting is the fact that BPS International itself is a real estate investor and building owner. The group's portfolio consists of commercial buildings as well as medical and infrastructure facilities. Objects of BPS are designed, constructed and operated with Building Information Modeling and supervised by BIM Managers.
The BPS group has started 360° BIM as one of the first investors in Europe to increase efficiency, quality and sustainability of buildings and operational processes.
"With BIM in design stage, we have turned nearly 50% of initially planned technical space to rental space. During construction stage, we accelerated the building process by avoiding almost natural errors e.g. by clash detection and virtual assembly of the building. With BIM in operational stages, we turn cost-intensive preventive service schedules to predictable services in Facility Management.", says Leonid Lopatin, founder of BPS International and initiator of Building Information Modeling.
To provide 360° services for Building Information Modeling in Germany including BIM Manager services, "BIM it!" was built up with clear orientation to Building Information Modeling, which means that "BIM it!" operates as interdisciplinary team that joins architects as well as static and MEP engineers, BIM Managers, technology experts as well as Facility and Property Managers to consult and accompany investors in Germany about Building Information Modeling throughout the entire lifecycle of their building.
By it, the BIM Managers of BPS in Germany do not only accompany projects (in short term), but buildings in long-term.
For investors who demand Building Information Modeling for their Germany-based project/s, BPS International realizes, consults and accompanies BIM projects with responsibilities in architecture as well as MEP and structural engineering, construction and also in operational stages of facilities, including BIM Manager services.
The BIM managers of BPS International in Germany take responsibilities either on the side of the owner / investor or as operational or audit party for contractors, e.g. to prepare especially German parties to properly work / collaborate in a BIM environment and to quickly adopt to the project methods and standards of Building information Modeling. Herein, the BIM managers provide strategic, technical and operational input.
The BIM it! Video about the topic BIM Manager in Germany shows how the BIM managers of BPS International accompany a project in the design phase. The BIM manager video gives an overview of the contractual situation of (Germany-based) BIM projects and demonstrates how BIM manager tasks are characterized.
