BITZER exhibits product highlights at the ACR Show in Birmingham, UK

Specialist for refrigeration compressors presents NEW ECOLINE and ORBIT series as well as other innovations

(PresseBox) (Sindelfingen/ Birmingham, )
BITZER to exhibit its latest reciprocating, screw and scroll compressors for both stationary and mobile applications at the ACR Show from 11 to 13 February 2014 in Birmingham, UK.

For 80 years BITZER has been a leader in the field of refrigeration and air conditioning technology. At the ACR BITZER is presenting its latest product highlights, including the NEW ECOLINE series semi-hermetic reciprocating compressor. Thanks to an improvement of up to 12 per cent in its coefficient of performance (COP) at low condensing temperatures and the great variety of refrigerants it can use, the NEW ECOLINE has been a worldwide success. In addition to R134a, the NEW ECOLINE compressor can also operate with the refrigerants R404A, R407A, R407C, R407F, R507A, R290 and R1270. Since its market launch at the start of April 2013 over 100,000 NEW ECOLINE compressors have been sold. Because it is compatible with its predecessor model it can be integrated with ease into existing installations. BITZER will also be presenting two further reciprocating compressors at ACR in the shape of the OCTAGON compressor for transcritical CO2 applications and the ROADSTAR for mobile air conditioning applications.

New multi-scroll solutions for use with compressors of varying powers
ORBIT scroll compressors are characterised by high isentropic efficiency, low sound levels and excellent energy efficiency. The ORBIT 6 series features displacements of between 20 and 38 cubic metres per hour, while the larger Orbit 8 series is capable of between 29 and 77 cubic metres. ORBIT scroll compressors are designed for use in air conditioning systems and heat pumps and for operation with the R410A refrigerant. We have filed a patent application for the BITZER Advanced Header Technology (BAHT), which allows scroll compressors of varying performance to be combined into tandem and trio compressor sets. A single piping kit can be used for up to 20 different line combinations, cutting storage costs accordingly. This throws open new design options for air conditioning engineers when configuring future systems.

OS series: compressors for commercial and industrial applications
At the ACR BITZER will also be presenting a new open drive screw compressor from the OS series. This series is designed for universal use in large commercial or industrial applications and marine refrigeration systems as well as explosion protection zones. In these applications they offer high cooling capacity and performance coefficients both with and without economiser operation. Open drive screw compressors can run on all current refrigerants and permit the parallel operation of up to six compressors. From model OS.85 upwards the screw compressors can be fitted with either three-step or infinitely variable slider controls.

CSV & CSH: two reliable powerhouses
Also on show at the Birmingham trade fair are the semi-hermetic compact screw compressors CSV and CSH. The CSH series is suitable for use in air conditioning systems, heat pumps and applications involving high condensing temperatures. The improved oil management ensures good lubrication even at extreme ambient temperatures, as well as very good efficiency under part load. Capacity control can optionally be either in steps or infinitely variable. BITZER has optimised the CSV series for use in liquid chillers and heat pumps. The semi-hermetic compact screw compressor features an integrated frequency inverter for infinitely variable speed settings as well as sensors to monitor that performance is within its operating limits. This greatly facilitates the installation and safe use of the CSV series. Additional exhibits include the latest refinements of the ECOSTAR condensing units as well as various pressure vessels.
