Intelligent interoperable and future-proof charging infrastructure

This is what The Mobility House and ebee/ Bender Group stand for

(PresseBox) (Grünberg, )
Ebee Smart Technologies GmbH and The Mobility House are coordinating the interoperability of their systems.

A smooth interaction between the Ebee solution, the charging controller from Bender, which has been verified by thousands of test cases, and the Charging and Energy Management system ChargePilot from The Mobility House is guaranteed.

The partners are also working on implementing ISO 15118 as well as communication via OCPP 2.0.1 for plug & charge and intelligent V1G and V2G applications.

Together on course for an electric future: while developing the latest charging controller, the technology company for charging infrastructure Ebee, part of the globally active Bender Group, implemented the compatibility with the Charging and Energy Management system ChargePilot from The Mobility House. The integration has been thoroughly checked and approved in a large number of test cases. The interfaces of the two systems enable a product and function scope with a diversity that is yet to be matched in intelligent charging applications.

For projects with several charging stations, an intelligently interlinked charging infrastructure enables maximum load of the existing mains connection and thus avoids unnecessary expansion costs. It is important for the individual charging stations to be able to communicate with the higher-level systems reliably. And this is precisely what the two pioneers in electric mobility are making possible: the new charging controller CC613, developed by Ebee and produced by the global electronics company Bender, functions as the “brain” of a wallbox and is responsible for controlling, monitoring, and authorizing the charging processes of electric cars. It receives the required load management data from ChargePilot, the higher-level Charging and Energy Management system from The Mobility House.

Ebee and The Mobility House both follow the philosophy of interoperability: the ability of all parties involved in electromobility, from the vehicle and the wallbox to the charging and energy management and higher-level CPO and MSP backends, to communicate with each other smoothly regardless of their manufacturer—thanks to harmonized standards and professionally developed and thoroughly tested interfaces.

The Ethernet interface, for example, can be used to easily establish an interlinked charging infrastructure with the Ebee solution and ChargePilot that can be controlled and managed remotely. The two systems also already support the up-and-coming standard ISO 15118, which enables the convenient application plug & charge. This makes it possible to start the charging process simply by connecting the car to the wallbox with the charging cable and eliminates the need to constantly carry charging cards or RFID chips. “Together with The Mobility House we have achieved a major milestone by linking our systems. The entire platform, and thus every Bender charging controller including the new CC613, can now reliably work with ChargePilot’s dynamic load management function. A win-win situation for customers on both sides,” explained Robert Weyrauch of Ebee Smart Technologies GmbH. ChargePilot distributes the power available from a mains connection across all charging points intelligently and efficiently.

“As a non-proprietary solutions provider, we think from the customer’s perspective. And the customer’s main concern is making a future-proof investment. Collaborating with Ebee has allowed us to significantly increase the range of services we offer our customers: as the Bender charging controller is installed in the wallboxes of many leading international manufacturers, our Charging and Energy Management system ChargePilot can now communicate with them reliably,” explained Marcus Fendt, Managing Director of The Mobility House.

Beyond this, The Mobility House and Ebee are already working on further technologies that will soon be commonplace for electric car drivers: for example the in-depth implementation of ISO 15118 and communication via OCPP 2.0.1, in order to realize future intelligent V1G and V2G applications.
