The new buildings offer space for more than 150 employees. A+W software experts are excited about their new work environment with its spacious possibilities for creative development and research, project work, customer service, training and customer meetings. The translucent design with views through the spacious office units into the beautifully laid out park promotes communication between employees and creates a harmonious and comfortable work climate. The open design is supported by the fresh accents and light appearance of the table systems with matching cabinets and containers. Gas lift, height adjustable tables can be installed on request.
All offices face toward the park; the functional areas are in the interior of the buildings. High-tech LED illumination, partially in combination with skylights, picks up the daylight color spectrum and provides natural lighting at the work places and in the communication zones.
A+W CFO George Evers, who managed and had the inspiration for the renovation: "Despite occasional skepticism at the beginning, our employees have reacted positively and some are even thrilled with our new place of business. Nevertheless, many individual offices have been replaced by the Open Space concept. I have not met anyone that has seen this as a disadvantage." Robert McKinney, translator and author of technical documentation, adds: "I believe that the concept has to be seen and felt to understand that Open Space has nothing to do with the impersonal dry large space concepts of the past decades."
Open Space: Communication and concentrated work The A+W Planning Team, in cooperation with the office furnishing supplier CEKA, took a concept and implemented it into a careful and extensive project planning process, which took into account the personal needs of the employees, their jobs and work flow and transformed it into a contemporary use of space. The Open Space concept reflects that transparency is a high A+W company value, and at the same time it encourages communication and teamwork.
In addition, highly concentrated mental work must be possible at all times for the A+W employees. Attractive noise reducing privacy elements and zoning containers create personal territories without destroying the open space.
Conference rooms, equipped with modern media technology, facilitate work meetings and training with various numbers of participants. The diverse and, in spite of the openness, cozy free space was found to be surprisingly comfortable. The functional and friendly reception area greets visitors, directly at the main entrance; the surrounding, prestigious, relaxed area with coffee bar invites customers as well as employees to an introductory meeting and exchange of ideas. A library furnished with comfortable bistro tables enables brief pauses and meetings in a smaller group.
Managing Director Dr. Uwe Schmid: "It surprised and pleased me how spontaneously the open concept and attractive library area was accepted and used by the employees: We were barely moved in and already work groups and employees with customers were sitting in the pleasant communication zones. In our previous offices they first had to search for a free room for fifteen minutes in order to then meet isolated in a closed room. These are the advantages that are immediately experienced and that do not need to be explained."
High end offices- Sleeping Beauty awakened The completely new space and office concept required a total renovation. The 3600 m2 of office space, divided into two spacious pavilion buildings, were totally gutted, received thoroughly new interior finishing, the most contemporary heating and air-conditioning technology and of course a fast W-LAN.
George Evers: "Our lessor, Loghotel, invested approx. two and a half million euros in the renovation and restoration of the buildings. Among other things, an elegant contemporary pedestrian bridge was erected that provides direct access from our parking lot into the building, without the visitor having to go out of their way through the entrance of the entire complex.
The high level of acceptance is an acknowledgement that we made the right decision to move from Linden to Pohlheim."
*On a site of approx. 23,000 m2 , the previous headquarters of a well-known office furniture manufacturer in Pohlheim / Mittelhessen, was renovated into one of the most modern logistics and service centers in Hessen. With this favorable public transportation location in the center of Hessen, where the BAB north-south and east-west axes intersect at Gambacher Kreuz and an ideal connection to the highway and airline network, this location meets the ideal requirements.
