Avnet Abacus highlights the Internet of Things at embedded world 2016

Distributor joins with TE Connectivity and TDK in Hall 5, stand 5-101 to showcase component solutions for IoT applications

(NYSE: AVT), will join forces with its key partners TE Connectivity and TDK at the embedded world exhibition in Nuremberg from 23-25 February 2016 to present module-based wireless connectivity solutions that cover a range of protocols suitable for the IoT.

On show will be low-energy Bluetooth Smart, Wi-Fi, ISM transceivers and other mesh-networking technologies. Complementing these modules will be a broad range of advanced antenna solutions based on ceramic-chip, stamped-metal, PCB/Flex-PCB and LDS technologies.

For off-grid requirements, Avnet Abacus offers through its supplier partners a broad range of battery packs, available as standard and custom lithium-ion and lithium-polymer based solutions, as well as specialist devices that meet IEC/EN/UL60601 for medical applications, plus wireless charging coils and modules.

Also featured will be a wide portfolio of sensor solutions including humidity, gas, pressure, proximity, thermal and pyroelectric types. These devices target a range of applications such as intelligent buildings, medical and healthcare monitoring and retail, as well as factory automation – a key area for the IoT that enables the next generation of factories to offer ever more advanced automation and significantly enhanced efficiency.
