asknet AG, a subsidiary of the Swiss-listed technology and media company The Native SA (www.thenative.ch), has won a tender by the federal state of Saxony for supplying the state and state-accredited universities and colleges with Microsoft licenses. The related framework agreement, to the tune of EUR 2.2 million, became effective as of May 2018 for a period of three years.
asknet’s Academics Business Unit will supply the participating Saxon institutions with all core desktop products by Microsoft (including Office Professional Plus, Office Mac and Windows Enterprise). The agreement also includes the supply of Students & Teacher Benefits such as Office365 and Windows 10 Education.
“Saxony is an important and renowned educational location,” says Michael Baumann, Head of the Academics Business Unit. “We are pleased about the outcome of the tender as it further strengthens asknet’s market position in Germany. We now supply a total of 10 state portals with software licenses from the most renowned manufacturers.”
