Gütersloh, Germany – October 11, 2012 – arvato AG and arvato Systems, both part of Bertelsmann, today announced that they have received the 2012 Software Excellence Award from Cisco.
This prestigious award recognizes arvato and arvato Systems for offering flexibility to Cisco´s supply chain and for embracing the new software business models that Cisco has implemented to address its customers’ needs across the globe. The distinction was awarded during Cisco's 21st annual Supplier Appreciation Event, held September 6 at the Santa Clara Convention Center.
“The expertise of arvato and arvato Systems has been instrumental in the accelerated development of cost effective solutions we created in the fulfillment space,” said Kevin Ross, Sr. Director, Software Supply Chain, Cisco. “They are a true leader in owning the development and evolution of the solutions they provide, and have heavily invested in process enhancements that have helped us gain cost reductions, efficiencies, and improvements in on time shipments (OTS) and lead time. We are proud to announce arvato and arvato Systems as winner of the ‘Software Excellence’ award.”
Cisco presented awards to suppliers in recognition of their contributions to Cisco’s success in fiscal year 2012. At the event Cisco celebrated the shared successes of its global value chain with strategic suppliers and manufacturing partners and reaffirmed its commitment to a strong, continued partnership that will further accelerate innovation.
“The sales, production and distribution of software and licenses has evolved from a purely physical model to a hybrid model, with both physical and digital sales and distribution channels,” said Dr. Martin Anduschus, Vice President, arvato Systems.
